THE BOARD
Kristin Elinkowski
Board Chair
Kristin is the Chairman of Virtual Horizons Charter School and co-founder of Oasis XRE. A former Chairman of the Utah State Charter School Board and member of the Governor's Commission on Excellence in Education, she holds a Master's in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Richard Cozzens
Board Member
Richard Cozzens, Ph.D., is Director of the Thunderworks Innovation Center and Professor of Engineering at Southern Utah University, with over 12 years of aerospace experience and two decades in academia. He is passionate about VR/AR applications and experiential learning.
Nancy Lealaisalanoa
Board Member
Nancy brings over 20 years of experience in government operations and data analytics to the board. She currently serves as a Data Quality Analyst for the U.S. District Court and is a mother of four, including a VHCS student.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENES
Tiffany Strong
SPED Director
Tiffany is the Special Education Director at VHCS in her 23rd year in education, having taught 6th grade, 5th grade, and Middle School Math before serving as a Special Education Director. She has built a career on creating strong, compliant, student-centered systems that help teachers and families feel supported.
Christina Miramontes
School Secretary
Christina is our administrative assistant with previous experience as a school registrar and coding teacher for students in grades 1–8. She loves supporting both students and staff while helping the school run smoothly.
James White
Director of IT
James White holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Modern Languages from St. Lawrence University and a Master of Science in Computational Linguistics from the University of Stuttgart, where his research on cognition and language models resulted in two publications. He previously worked in Canadian public service as a cloud infrastructure architect, specializing in identity systems. James now leads IT operations at Virtual Horizons Charter School, supporting students and building systems to enhance school performance. He is particularly interested in studying how virtual reality-based learning impacts student outcomes.
Anna Elinkowski
IT Support & Legal Compliance
Anna currently serves in a dual capacity role as IT Support and in Legal & Compliance at Virtual Horizons Charter School, where she leverages her multidisciplinary background in technology and intellectual property law. She is finalizing an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Data Law at the Technical University of Dresden, building on specialized studies in IP law through the Erasmus program at Jagiellonian University in Poland. Prior to her current role, Anna served as a Legal Intern with an international corporation's in-house legal team, focusing on intellectual property, compliance, and employment law, and as IT Help Desk Lead at a manufacturing company. She has also worked as an English tutor in both Spain and Germany. Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis on International Politics and Law from Louisiana State University and an Information Technology Technician Certification from Davis Technical College. During her time as a student research assistant, she was published in an academic journal alongside the Head of LSU's Political Science Department. She is passionate about applying her blend of technical expertise and legal knowledge to support Virtual Horizons Charter School's mission and growth.
4TH GRADE
Amanda Penton
Teacher, 4th Grade
Amanda has taught for 13 years across first, second, fifth, and now fourth grade. She is especially passionate about creating engaging learning experiences where students are actively involved in their own learning.
Katie Lombardi
Instructional Assistant, 4th Grade
Katie brings over 20 years of experience coaching dance and working with children. She makes the classroom welcoming for every child and is always learning new approaches to better support students.
5TH GRADE
Tamarin Youlton
Teacher, 5th Grade
Tamarin is thrilled to work at VHCS, calling it "an innovative and fun way of teaching and learning." She loves helping students master Math and is excited to get to know every student.

Lucy Larmondra
ELA Teacher, Middle School
Lucy was born and raised outside of Buffalo, NY, and has been a classroom teacher for 13 years across North Carolina, Nevada, and Utah, teaching both elementary and middle school.

Amanda Gladden
Science Teacher, Middle School
With a Bachelor's degree in Education and a deep love for science and nature, Amanda is passionate about exploring the world around us. She lives in Tooele with her husband and four children, and loves sharing her sense of wonder with students.
Kim McCann
Instructional Assistant, Middle School Science
Kim loves working with kids and has spent years as a Special Education paraprofessional. She enjoys interacting with students in science and SPED — and loves that school happens in virtual reality!
Brian Steffensen
Social Studies Teacher, Middle School
Brian integrates VR and technology to make history engaging and memorable. He began his career in education at Athlos Academy after working in tech sales, and is also a local singer-songwriter known as Brian Makes Music.
Meagan Tonozzi
Social Studies Instructional Assistant, Middle School
Meagan specializes in creating immersive VR learning experiences that keep students engaged and confident. Originally from Wyoming, she enjoys riding ATVs, horseback riding, and exploring Utah's rich history.
Dara Enosa
Math Teacher, Middle School
Dara loves teaching, especially Math. She started with VHCS as the IA for Middle School Math and has really enjoyed working with students through the creative, engaging VR experience. Her goal for students is to learn to love math and understand how it relates to the real world. She is from Southern California, loves the beach, dancing, singing, and spending time with her husband and six children.

Spanish Teacher, 4th–8th
I am a Spanish teacher who is passionate about helping my students develop confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning a new language. I have a strong academic background, including graduate-level studies completed in Colombia. I enjoy creating a warm, positive, and engaging classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, making mistakes, and learning in meaningful ways. I am passionate about incorporating technology, creative activities, and cultural experiences that make learning authentic, dynamic, and memorable for every student.

P.E. Teacher
Mandi has been an instructional assistant, PE teacher, and school librarian for over five years. She graduated from BYU with a degree in Exercise Science and loves helping students discover new things and challenge themselves.
