School Secretary
Christina Miramontes
I’m an administrative assistant at VHCS, with previous experience as a school registrar and coding teacher for students in grades 1–8. I love supporting both students and staff while helping the school run smoothly. I’m married and excitedly expecting my first baby in April. Outside of work, I enjoy adventure—I’ve gone skydiving and bungee jumping, and surprisingly, bungee jumping scared me more! I’m excited to continue contributing to VHCS and making a positive impact each day.

Tiffany Strong
Tiffany Strong is the Special Education Director at Virtual Horizons Charter School. This is her 23rd year in education, having taught 6th grade, 5th grade, and Middle School Math before serving as a Special Education Director at another charter school. She has built a career on creating strong, compliant, student-centered systems that help teachers and families feel supported. Outside of school she’s an avid runner who logs miles at high altitude and treats the elliptical like a personal competition. Tiffany is also married to the Art Teacher Mr. Strong and has two boys who keep her very busy.

Outside of work, I enjoy riding ATVs, horseback riding, exploring Utah’s history, and spending time with my husband and our two pets. Fun fact: my great-great-great grandmother, Elizabeth Townsend, was the first recorded birth in the Wyoming Territory!

With a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a deep love for science and nature, I am passionate about exploring the world around us. My husband and I live in Tooele, where we enjoy life with our four children and three grandsons—with a granddaughter soon to join the family! Whether I’m admiring a vibrant sunset or marveling at a star-filled sky, I’m always inspired by the beauty of the natural world and look forward to sharing that sense of wonder with our students.

ELA Teacher, Middle School
Lucy Larmondra
My name is Lucy, and I was born and raised outside of Buffalo, NY. GO Bills! I finished my education in North Carolina, where I also began my teaching career. Instructional Assistant, 5th Grade
Amanda McCoy (Mandi)
My name is Amanda McCoy, but everyone calls me Mandy.
I've been an instructional assistant for the past 5 years as well as a PE teacher and a school librarian. I absolutely love helping students learn and grow, while having fun. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, hiking, dabbling in woodworking, as well as snuggling with my cats.
I grew up in Mesa, Arizona and like most Arizona girls, I love sunshine, swimming, and air conditioning!
As a kid, I was a bit of a "nerd". I loved going to class, I was involved in orchestra, swim team, badminton, volleyball, NHS, plays and all sorts of other academic activities.
After I graduated high school, I attended BYU where I fell in love with medicine and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science.
After getting married and having kids of my own, I became interested in what my kids were taught in school as well as how they were taught. This led me to volunteer in the classroom where my son's teacher recruited me to be an instructional assistant. Here I grew to love seeing my students discover new things and challenge themselves and I have been an instructional assistant ever since.
