About the Role
The Special Education Teacher at VHCS is responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. This role involves designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, specialists, and other educators to ensure student success. The teacher will modify curriculum, apply differentiated instruction strategies, and utilize innovative teaching methods, including VR-based tools, to meet students' unique needs. They will assess student progress regularly, provide targeted interventions, and maintain open communication with families to support academic and personal growth.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid Utah Educator License with a Special Education endorsement.
Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
Patience, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
