About the Role
The Middle Grades Social Studies Teacher at VHCS will take students on an engaging journey through history, geography, government, and economics using immersive VR-based learning experiences. This role requires developing and delivering lessons aligned with Utah Core Standards, encouraging students to analyze historical events, make connections to modern society, and engage in critical discussions. By integrating technology, the teacher will create interactive experiences such as virtual field trips and historical reenactments, fostering a deeper understanding of global cultures and civic responsibilities.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education, History, or a related field.
Licensure: Valid Utah Educator License with a Secondary Education endorsement in Social Studies.
Experience: Prior experience teaching middle school students is preferred.
Skills: Strong understanding of historical events, cultural studies, and geographical concepts; ability to integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance learning.
