About the Role
The Middle Grades Science Teacher at VHCS will guide students through dynamic, inquiry-based learning experiences that inspire curiosity and critical thinking. This role involves teaching life, physical, and earth sciences in an immersive, virtual environment that allows students to conduct virtual experiments and explore scientific concepts in 3D simulations. The teacher will develop engaging lesson plans that align with Utah Core Standards, assess student learning through hands-on projects and assessments, and foster a collaborative learning environment where students can explore scientific inquiry and innovation.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Licensure: A valid Utah Educator License with a Secondary Science endorsement (or eligibility to obtain one).
Experience: Previous experience teaching middle school science is preferred.
Skills:
Strong understanding of scientific principles, inquiry-based learning, and the scientific method.
Ability to integrate virtual reality and interactive simulations into science instruction.
Proficiency in designing hands-on, engaging lessons aligned with Utah Core Science Standards.
Strong communication, classroom management, and collaborative teaching skills.
