About the Role

The Information Technology Manager supports the organization’s day-to-day technology operations across remote and school-based environments. This role focuses on maintaining stable, secure, and responsive IT systems, particularly those supporting our VR-based educational programming. The IT Manager ensures effective provisioning, deployment, and troubleshooting of Meta headsets, mobile devices, and networking configurations at partner school sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Technology Operations Support
- Manage daily IT operations and respond to support requests across remote teams and school sites
- Deploy, configure, and update Meta VR headsets used in classroom and field trip programs
- Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., QFB, ManageXR, ArborXR) for secure device control
- Assist with basic network and connectivity troubleshooting in school environments (e.g., firewalls, device onboarding)
- Document standard operating procedures for VR device and network setup
- Track hardware and software inventory; assist with procurement planning
- Coordinate with technology vendors and service providers for equipment and support

Security and Risk Protocols
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols under the direction of the leadership team.
- Follow compliance guidelines related to data privacy (FERPA, COPPA, etc.)

Cross-Team Collaboration
- Support curriculum and implementation teams in using VR hardware effectively
- Provide basic training and troubleshooting guidance to school personnel
- Communicate updates on tech operations and needs clearly to stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience managing IT operations or support, preferably in education or remote environments

  • Hands-on experience with:

  • Meta Quest or similar VR headset deployment

  • MDM systems like Meta Quest for Business, ArborXR or ManageXR

  • Basic network diagnostics and connectivity support

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent experience

  • Preferred

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+)

  • Familiarity with education-sector tech requirements and compliance


Additional Requirements

  • Must reside in Utah

  • Must pass a fingerprint and background check

  • Occasional in-person meetings may be required

  • Alignment with the mission and values of our organization


Compensation

Salary range: based on experience and qualifications. Includes standard benefits and remote work flexibility.
